Should be very good.

European Exchange Academy

June 2nd, 2012

In the summer of 2005 I spent a month in the Black Forest with the European Exchange Academy, doing all kinds of arty things with students from all over Europe. I had an excellent time making films, drawings, sound recordings, sculptures and things with some lovely people.

The EEA started in Beelitz, Germany 10 years ago now, and to celebrate there’s going to be a show in Berlin with artwork by many of the participants. Each person involved has been asked to submit an A4 piece of paper with their name, year of participation and what they did in writing on it (participant/tutor/adviser/etc). This is my design…

Here’s my contribution to Spacenite 2- ROM art show. A hundred or so artists from all over the place contribute their interpretation of Bill Mantlo’s ROM comics. Bill Mantlo was a comic book writer for Marvel until he was hit by a car and suffered severe brain trauma. The money raised is to help out with paying for his care. There’s going to be a book of all the art work and an online auction. More details about this in the future …

If you are anywhere near Ottawa at the moment (Alaska, America or Russia for example) go there and look at some of my pictures. I am in a group show at Canteen gallery called The Isle misfits. Here’s the theme of the show:

“For the january group show, Canteen invited each artist to offer his or her interpretation of a fantasy sanctuary – or sanatorium – populated by people, animals, objects, and toys that are somehow not quite right.”

Unit 7-8 the Merrion Market Leeds

Hoi hoi! I am in an exciting group show in Leeds. The idea is that 20 artists produce 20 multiples of their work and then exchange them, with the one left over for sale to the public. It will be nice and diverse, with 20 very different artists showing a single work each. It will be very good so please do go along.
