!!Yoweee!! What's new? | Hello, I am Patrick Gildersleeves and this is a place to see my latest pictures and things…

I have already blogged an earlier version of this picture, but I made a few changes to it and have sent it off for the Joyful Bewilderment group show. You can play a game of spot the difference with the older version if you like. See the post below for details of the exhibition.

Here are the answers to spot the difference

Hello hello yes this is the flyer (designed by Simon Peplow) for The Joyful Bewilderment show, opening 2nd October in the new Rough Trade record store located in the East End of London. There will be around 100 artists from all over the world showing a piece each. It is being curated by Simon Peplow, Holly Wales and Marcus Oakley. Should be very very mega.

Word word word everyone I got back from a break in the World of Cider yesterday so I am working extremely hard now of course. This is a picture I drew while looking at my wifey’s new but old handicrafts book. It has many pictures of happy people with lovely big 70s hair wearing strange knitwear. Brrr, not sure if I really like this one very much.

Here is a page of drawings from my old “Playboy of the Western World” sketchbook which is quickly filling up. Just some animals and things. Having just moved house I am now off on holiday for a week, so come back in seven days to see new things please.

P.S. Have a look at my very good friend Jamie Patton’s new blog for some excellent and quite scary drawings.

Here is an illustration that is in this month’s Plan B mag. It is illustrating a review of “Fed”, the new album by Liam Hayes’ band Plush. It is a big one (290mm wide x 300mm high) so you can all get down to W H Smiths or Borders and take a peek. I am still moving so expect erratic postage until I sez.

Hi! I’ve been moving house lately so blogging has been neglected. Sorry for this everyone. There is good news though, I shall be taking part in a group show in London in September with many many other artists. I will tell you all about it soon. Thanks.

I’ve been watching a few too many dangerous films lately perhaps. Wild Zero and Ong-Bak appear to have put me in a violent drawing mood. The man with the big hair is squeezing the juice out of the other one’s head.

Sketchings from my reporter’s notebook

Here is a pencil drawing from my sketchbook

Above man: “Hey there girl welcome in to my green room”

A lady: “Oh hello, yes please”

Above man: “I knewed that you would”

A lady: “So did I”

This is  drawing I did when preparing for the AWESOMO POWERA expo in Amsterdam that I had forgotten all about. The quality is a little poor because it is a photograph, sorry! sorry!
